What is the appropriate circulation width of traffic aisles?* ![]() Two-way traffic aisles vary in width from 23 ft. (LOS D) to 26 ft. (LOS A). A typical parking module for two-way traffic is 60 ft., consisting of a 24 foot traffic aisle, and two 90 degree parking stalls, each of which being 18 ft. long. There is no such thing as two-way aisles with angled parking. One-way traffic aisles vary in width form 17 ft. to 20 ft. for 75 degree angle parking stalls. A common aisle width is 18 ft. However, the parking module varies based upon the angle of the parking stalls. There is no such thing as one-way traffic with 90 degree parking stalls. ![]() In two-way traffic garages, the width of end turning bays should be wider than the travel aisles to facilitate turning. This will accommodate the overhang of the front of the vehicle, as well as clearance from oncoming traffic. Typical end bays of precast garages with two way traffic are 45’0” and 48’0”. ![]() One-way traffic garages should have end turning bays with a width, at a minimum, the width of the travel aisle. ![]() ![]()
