When do most land uses experience their peak parking demand?* Each type of land use has its own parking characteristics associated with it. For example, an office building may not have any vehicles present during evening and weekend hours. In turn, the parking areas may be filled to capacity on a weekday morning at 10am. The following table outlines the peak hours for the various land uses: Retail: Afternoon and Evening during weekends Cinema: Evening to late evening during weekends Office: Morning to mid-morning during weekdays Residential: Late evening to early morning 7 days a week. Restaurant: Evening during weekends * Federal, State, and Local codes govern most of these requirements and should be thoroughly investigated.
