Allentown Transportation Center - Allentown, Pennsylvania For the Allentown Parking Authority, TimHaahs designed the Allentown Transportation Center, a multi-modal bus transportation facility and parking structure that will accommodate public transportation service and parking in center city. TimHaahs designed the Allentown Government Area Parking Structure and the Allentown Transportation Center concurrently. The facility includes a five tier parking structure with approximately 500 spaces, an indoor transfer center for transit passengers, outdoor bus shelters, bus parking and surface parking. This footprint accommodates shell space for future retail and restaurant tenants, and the indoor transfer center for transit passengers, operated by LANTA. The façade design was driven by the City’s effort to spur development in downtown Allentown. The TimHaahs team used a combination of architectural precast, brick, curtain wall, perforated metal screening and accent lighting to create attractive and memorable architecture for this important structure.
