Bucks County Judicial Parking Facility - Doylestown, Pennsylvania TimHaahs designed this 1200-space, four tier facility to provide parking for Bucks County employees, as well as fill the increased parking demand created by the proposed Judicial Center. The new facility will also provide parking for transient patrons in downtown Doylestown. The façade of the parking structure was driven by the borough’s effort to combine the traditional architecture of Doylestown with a contemporary style. To achieve the appropriate style, TimHaahs used a combination of traditional materials, geometry, and architectural patterns to create a building that blends with its neighbors in terms of height, materials, and fenestrations, while adding contemporary detailing to give the building a warm and intimate feeling. Architectural precast and thin-brick were used to complement the context. Ornamentation such as colonial windows, ornate metal grills, and reveals in the brick were integrated into the garage to tie the contemporary and the traditional. The northwest stairtower serves as a prime architectural element and is located on Broad Street, a main corridor into town from the Route 611 bypass. Using a clock tower as a focal point for design, the building creates a visual entryway to the downtown district. ![]() ![]()
