Canaveral Port Authority Design/Build Parking Garage - Cape Canaveral, Florida For the Canaveral Port Authority, TimHaahs is providing design services for a new 1000-space parking structure in Cape Canaveral, FL. TimHaahs joined with the Hardin Construction design-build team to deliver the project. As a result of a significant increase in cruise ridership, parking demands in the area have risen dramatically. The precast parking structure will serve the growing parking needs of the Disney Cruise Line. The structure will include pedestrian connections to the cruise terminal, as well as a passenger and baggage drop-off area on the ground floor. Construction of the new parking facility will occur in coordination with a number of nearby projects, which could present challenges during construction. These include the relocation of nearby Charles Rowland Drive, the expansion of the surrounding cruise terminal parking lot, and the construction of an elevated circulation walkway, which will provide access from the cruise terminal to the parking structure. Construction for this project is scheduled for completion in March 2010.
