City Island Park-N-Ride Parking Facility - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

For the City of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Parking Authority, TimHaahs designed a Park-N-Ride facility at the southern part of the island located in the middle of the Susquehanna River just west of the Central Business District of Harrisburg.



City Island is connected by the Market Street Bridge, a pedestrian bridge, and an existing rail bridge that passes over the south end of the island.

The facility was designed to provide a Park-N-Ride facility for the future light rail system via the rail bridge and the city-operated bus system, and will accommodate a ferry and boat users as well.



The total site yielded approximately 1,000 spaces, of which about 500 spaces are in the structured parking garage.
