City Island Park-N-Ride Parking Facility - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania For the City of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Parking Authority, TimHaahs designed a Park-N-Ride facility at the southern part of the island located in the middle of the Susquehanna River just west of the Central Business District of Harrisburg. ![]() City Island is connected by the Market Street Bridge, a pedestrian bridge, and an existing rail bridge that passes over the south end of the island. The facility was designed to provide a Park-N-Ride facility for the future light rail system via the rail bridge and the city-operated bus system, and will accommodate a ferry and boat users as well. ![]() The total site yielded approximately 1,000 spaces, of which about 500 spaces are in the structured parking garage. |
