City of Binghamton Collier Street Garage Restoration - Binghamton, New York For the City of Binghamton, TimHaahs performed condition appraisal and restoration services for the Collier Street parking structure. The parking structure is over 50 years old and nearing the end of its service life. The garage is a five supported level deck with over 500 parking spaces. The project identified areas of significant repair needed throughout the parking facility, and provided recommendations for corrective action to extend the service life of the garage by up to two to five years. TimHaahs identified a number of issues including: • Deteriorated tee flange in need of replacement • Potholes at the floor slab • Damaged pedestals and haunches at the basement level • Section loss of numerous steel members • Significant cracking and spalling throughout the structure TimHaahs also identified several interior items which do not meet current code requirements. TimHaahs is developing restoration documents for the repair of the garage. TimHaahs is also working within the City’s budget to restore immediate repair items, while assisting with phasing for demolition and new construction at this site.
