CRDA Parking Demand and Mixed-Use Garage Feasibility Study - Atlantic City, New Jersey For the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA), TimHaahs and Bay Area Economics (BAE) performed a detailed parking study to determine the feasibility of constructing a mixed-use parking structure. The team generated a parking demand/alternatives analysis report to determine current and future parking surplus or deficit for the planned facility. The proposed development includes 56,000 square feet of retail, as well as 100 residential units. The study area consisted of approximately 13 blocks, and included The Walk (a series of retail outlet stores), restaurants, residential homes, Boardwalk Hall, a Sheraton Hotel, and the Convention Center. Multiple parking structures and lots are also located throughout the area. ![]() The team analyzed four options based on a market assessment. Future parking demand for each option was based on anticipated adjacent uses and the expectations of the CRDA. The team determined that significant future demand exists in the area. The team recommended a five supported level parking structure to accommodate the construction of additional retail, office, residential units, and restaurants. This option provides CRDA the best use of the selected site, as well as an appropriate amount of parking for development. TimHaahs has been selected as the prime design firm for the planned mixed-use parking facility, which is designed to contribute to the economic vitality of the area.
