DISA Headquarters Parking Structure Design - Fort Meade, Maryland For the Defense Information Systems Agency, TimHaahs provided parking structure design services for a two level structure, including approximately 680 spaces, to serve the new Fort Meade military campus. The project team situated the parking deck to maximize parking adjacent to both the Operations Building and the Command Center. The efficient design did not require ramping systems as the supported level vehicular access is via higher ground. The length of the deck is oriented in the east/west directions, parallel to the Operations Building.  TimHaahs blended the parking garage design with the “Georgian Revival” character of the campus, designed by RTKL, creating a collegiate atmosphere. The precast color, sandblast finishes, and thin brick material match façade design of the adjacent Operations Building. TimHaahs teamed with RTKL, the prime architect leading the design of the entire installation. The campus is pursuing LEED Silver Certification. The overarching concept for the DISA Headquarters is the creation of an integrated campus environment, consolidating several individual sites. The new robust facility will give DISA greater ability to support its customers and complete its mission.
