Gateway Transit Village - New Brunswick, New Jersey TimHaahs is currently working with Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn Architects (EEK), as well as the New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO) and the New Brunswick Parking Authority (NBPA) on the planning and design of the New Brunswick Transit Village. The 600,000 sf site is located between Rutgers University and downtown New Brunswick. The mixed-use project will include an 800+ space parking structure, retail at grade, a Rutgers University bookstore, potential entertainment venue space, and office space including, the new administrative offices for NBPA. In addition, the development will also feature a pedestrian walkway connecting to the adjacent New Jersey Transit/Amtrak station. The New Brunswick Transit Village development will create a much-needed connection between downtown New Brunswick and the Rutgers University campus. Further, it will create an attractive, pedestrian-friendly environment serving students, residents, and visitors, while providing transit connections to the rest of the City and throughout New Jersey as well. ![]() *Rendering courtesy of Rendering courtesy Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn Architects |
