Geisinger Medical Center Parking Structure - Danville, Pennsylvania TimHaahs provided architectural design, structural engineering, and parking consulting on the EwingCole team for a new five level, 600 space parking structure at Geisinger Medical Center. The project is part of an overall expansion of the hospital campus. Faced with increased patients and parking demand as a result, the medical center is expanding its infrastructure to accommodate future growth. The precast parking structure will be built on an existing parking lot, which is located on a site with sloping terrain. The garage design takes this slope into consideration, while maximizing parking count, efficiently locating the garage within the existing lot, and providing ample lane queuing. The structure is designed with provisions for future horizontal expansion, which would double its size. The exposed portion of the parking garage consists of precast spandrels and columns, with architectural sandblast finish and metal façade applications. The garage will also include a pedestrian walkway, connecting the garage to the medical office building. The Geisinger Medical Center parking structure will serve hospital staff, patients, and visitors. The garage is anticipated to be open by summer 2010. ![]() ![]()
