Kennesaw State University Parking Structure Design Criteria - Kennesaw, Georgia For Kennesaw State University in Cobb County, GA, TimHaahs developed design criteria for a new 2500-space parking structure. Originally, TimHaahs completed a Parking Master Plan for the University. One of the recommendations of the master plan was to build a new parking structure to serve as the gateway to the northern part of campus. The University was interested in delivering the parking deck using the design-build approach. To ensure that KSU received “apples to apples” competitive bids, TimHaahs prepared “baseline specifications” for all major disciplines for the parking structure, including the structural precast frame, lighting, parking equipment and security needs. The overall construction cost for the parking structure was approximately $30,000,000. Using the design-build, fast track approach, the parking structure was delivered in less than 12 months.
