Main & Cherry Streets Parking Garage Feasibility Study - Norristown, Pennsylvania The Redevelopment Authority of Montgomery County retained TimHaahs to study several functional options and cost estimates for the feasibility of constructing a parking structure near the intersection of Main and Cherry Streets in Norristown, PA. The Authority recognized that parking was a critical component for the revitalization of Main Street and the downtown region. As occupancy rates increased and future development was planned, the Authority and the Borough anticipated additional demand for off street parking. This feasibility study formed an integral part of the revitalization planning effort. TimHaahs investigated two options that each included functional and efficient designs and natural ventilation. TimHaahs recommended a design which included four levels of two way circulation with 90-degree parking, as well as two entry and exit points. As a result of this study, the Borough of Norristown elected to construct a four story mixed-use parking structure on the site. TimHaahs served as the prime design firm for the structure, which blends with the existing neighborhood and has served as a catalyst for revitalization. The structure incorporates retail frontage along Main Street, as well as the potential for additional retail space and office space on the northwest corner of the building. ![]() ![]()
