MBNA Southern Regional Headquarters Parking Garage - Boca Raton, Florida TimHaahs provided functional design and structural engineering for the 499 space employee Parking Garage for MBNA America’s new Southern Regional Headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida. The project, led by Homsey Architects, also included construction of two office buildings.  The structural design uses a combination cast-in-place/precast Filigree concrete system that allowed for six levels matching the adjacent office height. Measuring 188' x 178', the functional layout incorporates one-way traffic along the flat outer bays while using two-way traffic along the center ramped bay for vertical circulation. The facility uses 9'-0" standard parking stalls and also includes 8'-0" compact parking spaces.  The architectural design by Homsey Architects blended the look of the parking facility with the adjacent office buildings. This was accomplished by incorporating aluminum window grillwork in all of the garage openings and by including a steel-supported concrete tile parapet wall along the entire roof of the facility. The project was built on a fast-track design/construct schedule and was under the budget and on time for user occupancy.  |
