Merck & Company East Parking Structure - West Point, Pennsylvania The East Parking Structure at Merck’s West Point, Pennsylvania facility provides 1850 employee parking spaces located within seven levels of parking. This is the first of five parking projects that our firm completed for Merck. TimHaahs designed two parking structures for Merck’s West Point campus, two for their Rahway, New Jersey campus, and one for their headquarters in Upper Gwynedd Township, PA. ![]() This parking facility measures approximately 356' x 232' and uses a one-way double threaded helix traffic system with flat exterior bays. This structure is the first in the Greater Philadelphia area to use 15' precast concrete double tees. Merck retained TimHaahs as the prime design firm to provide functional, architectural, structural, and graphic design services. The parking facility was designed using a prestressed, precast concrete structural system. Both active and passive security features were used which include glass-backed elevators, ample lighting, and a CCTV monitoring system. ![]() The location of the parking facility dictated that a pedestrian bridge and three story stair/elevator tower be constructed to accommodate pedestrians crossing over an adjacent rail line. TimHaahs designed both the pedestrian bridge and terminus. |
