Merck & Company East Parking Structure - West Point, Pennsylvania TimHaahs designed a 1850-space parking structure at Merck & Company’s West Point, Pennsylvania campus. The facility provides employee parking located on seven levels. This was the first of five parking projects that the firm completed for Merck.  TimHaahs provided functional, architectural, structural, and graphic design services for this project. TimHaahs designed the facility using a prestressed, precast concrete structural system. The design included both active and passive security features, such as glass-backed elevators, ample lighting, and a CCTV monitoring system. The location of the facility dictated that a pedestrian bridge and three story stair/elevator tower be constructed to accommodate pedestrians crossing over an adjacent rail line. TimHaahs designed both the pedestrian bridge and terminus.  This structure was the first in the Greater Philadelphia area to use 15' precast concrete double tees. This parking facility measures approximately 356' x 232' and uses a one-way double threaded helix traffic system with flat exterior bays. |
