Merck & Company East Parking Structure - West Point, Pennsylvania TimHaahs designed a 1850-space parking structure at Merck & Company’s West Point, Pennsylvania campus. The facility provides employee parking located on seven levels. This was the first of five parking projects that the firm completed for Merck. ![]() TimHaahs provided functional, architectural, structural, and graphic design services for this project. TimHaahs designed the facility using a prestressed, precast concrete structural system. The design included both active and passive security features, such as glass-backed elevators, ample lighting, and a CCTV monitoring system. The location of the facility dictated that a pedestrian bridge and three story stair/elevator tower be constructed to accommodate pedestrians crossing over an adjacent rail line. TimHaahs designed both the pedestrian bridge and terminus. ![]() This structure was the first in the Greater Philadelphia area to use 15' precast concrete double tees. This parking facility measures approximately 356' x 232' and uses a one-way double threaded helix traffic system with flat exterior bays. |
