Merck & Company North Parking Structure - Rahway, New Jersey TimHaahs served as the prime design firm for a second 1,000 space employee parking garage at Merck & Company’s facility in Rahway, New Jersey.  The 291,000 square foot parking facility provides eight floors of parking and is used as an employee parking facility only. The building has a main stair/elevator tower, with a brick and precast architectural façade. The Merck North Garage incorporates many state-of-the-art security features such as video surveillance, voice activated intercoms, card reader equipment for vehicles and exterior doors, emergency aid stations, and lighted signs throughout the facility. Passive security features include glass-backed elevators, open stairwells and metal halide light fixtures.  The functional layout of the parking facility features a double threaded helix ramping system with one-way traffic. The parking stalls are 8'-6" at a 70 degree angle. The project was built on a fast-track design/construct schedule and was under the budget and on time for user occupancy. |
