Merck & Company South Parking Structure - West Point, Pennsylvania TimHaahs was retained by Merck & Co. to serve as the prime design firm and provide all project management, functional, architectural, structural, and graphic design services for the West Point, PA facility, which provided 1,830 employee parking spaces located within seven levels. The parking facility measures approximately 370' x 228'.  TimHaahs provided a functional design consisting of a double threaded helix centered between two flat plates. The traffic flow is one way with 8'-6" wide stalls at an angle of 70 degrees. TimHaahs also designed a vehicular ramp of approximately 300' in length providing for access to a bridge entrance at the third supported level. The bridge was designed in conjunction with a terminus building for pedestrian access in-plant.  TimHaahs completed all design documents within a five month period, and the garage opened in December 1999. |
