New Jersey Transit Hamilton Station - Hamilton, New Jersey TimHaahs designed a parking structure to serve the existing train station for the New Jersey Transit Hamilton Station, located in Hamilton, New Jersey. The garage is situated on the eastern end of the existing semi-circular shaped surface parking lot, parallel to the rail tracks and adjacent to the Hamilton Station bus terminal. ![]() The six story precast parking structure provides 2,066 spaces for transit commuters. The overall dimension of the footprint is 453’ x 246’, with three flat 60’-0” bays and a 62’-10” bay containing a ramp. The structure utilizes two-way 90° parking throughout the facility. The façade of the parking structure was designed to complement the existing train station, as well as the historic American Standard building located opposite the rail tracks. The design incorporates architectural features similar to the American Standard building, such as keystones and cornices, into the stair towers of the parking structure. ![]() The 16’ floor-to-floor height from the ground level to the second tier was provided to accommodate the potential future inclusion of retail space at grade. The typical floor-to-floor height of 11’-0” increases openness on the supported levels, providing added ventilation and increased natural light. |
