R. J. Hughes Justice Complex Garage Restoration - Trenton, New Jersey TimHaahs performed a restoration survey and repair solutions, including full scale design services for the R. J. Hughes Justice Complex. The facility consists of approximately 400 spaces in two levels below the complex office building and a plaza. Subsequently, TimHaahs provided full-scale restoration design services from contract documents to construction administration and field representation. ![]() The parking structure, which serves staff and visitors, was built in 1978 and had minimal repair work conducted. The floor structure is slab on grade at the lower level and waffle slab at the upper levels, supported by precast columns. The facility utilizes two-way traffic flow and 90 degree parking. The restoration work consisted of shallow and full-depth floor removal, routing and sealing of joints and cracks. In addition, it also included ceiling repairs, supplemental drains, penetrating sealer treatment and traffic deck coating application. ![]() Restoration work was divided into six phases to minimize disruption to the facility. The effective restoration and continued maintenance recommend by TimHaahs will add years of life to the structure, maintaining an appropriate level of service for garage patrons. |
