Rahway Transportation Center - Rahway, New Jersey Located close to New Jersey Transit’s Rahway Station in the heart of the central business district, the Rahway Transportation Center garage will accommodate both monthly commuters and short-term users. The garage is the first step in the revitalization of Rahway’s downtown district.  TimHaahs designed a 524 space parking facility to accommodate current and future parking needs, as well as an office building to serve as Rahway Parking Authority’s new headquarters. The precast concrete garage incorporates brick to match that of the Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church, located at the corner of Main and Lewis Streets. The peaked stair tower of the garage is intended to echo the spire of the church. In deference to the church, the peak of the garage stair tower was designed to be lower than the peak of the church spire. TimHaahs served as prime designer for the project and provided oversight during the construction process. |
