Rahway Transportation Center - Rahway, New Jersey

For the Rahway Parking Authority, TimHaahs designed the Rahway Transportation Center parking structure. The structure is located near New Jersey Transit’s Rahway Station in the heart of the central business district, and was the first step in the revitalization of the city’s downtown district.



TimHaahs designed the facility to accommodate current and future parking needs, as well as office space to serve as the Rahway Parking Authority’s new headquarters. The 524-space garage accommodates both monthly commuters and short-term users.

The precast concrete garage incorporates brick to match that of the Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church, located at the corner of Main and Lewis Streets. The peaked stair tower of the garage is intended to echo the spire of the church. In deference to the church, TimHaahs designed the peak of the garage stair tower to be lower than the peak of the church spire.

TimHaahs served as prime designer, architect, and engineer for the project and provided oversight during the construction process.
