Reading Fourth and Cherry Streets Restoration - Reading, Pennsylvania For the Reading Parking Authority, TimHaahs performed condition appraisal services on seven parking facilities. The Authority chose to concentrate on determining restoration options for the Fourth and Cherry Streets Parking Facility, which is centrally located at the hub of business in the City. The three-level post-tensioned structure contains approximately 350 spaces. ![]() TimHaahs presented the City with several options for restoration. The City opted to repair the parking facility to add approximately seven to ten years of useful life. The restoration work consisted of full exterior brick facade replacement, full and shallow depth removal, post-tensioning tendons splicing and replacement, routing and sealing of cracks, and application of a penetrating sealer on the driving and parking surfaces. The Reading Parking Authority retained TimHaahs to determine the feasibility of expanding the facility. TimHaahs then designed the one-level vertical expansion, which increased the number of spaces available to the city visitors and businesses. |
