Seton Hall University Parking Garage Expansion - South Orange, New Jersey Seton Hall University, in South Orange, NJ, is located in a densely populated suburb where campus parking is a prime necessity for staff and students alike. At the same time, the University is expanding the existing campus infrastructure, creating more parking needs. To alleviate this, Seton Hall University is constantly looking for parking expansion opportunities within their campus.  TimHaahs served as the prime design firm to study and provide construction documentation including functional, architectural, structural, and graphic design services for the expansion of their existing three-level parking structure located adjacent to their basketball arena. The existing parking facility was a six-bay wide, side-by-side, single helix structure with over 800 spaces. TimHaahs provided an architectural design that expanded the structure two levels vertically for an additional 450 spaces. In addition, the expansion also added a “twin” tower appearance at the main stair/elevator towers, and a pedestrian canopy.  TimHaahs completed all design documentation within a two-month period, as requested by the University. Construction was completed over a four-month period in time for a fall semester opening. |
