Seton Hall University Parking Garage Expansion - South Orange, New Jersey Seton Hall University, in South Orange, New Jersey, is located in a densely populated suburb where its campus parking is a prime necessity for staff and students alike. At the same time, the University is expanding the existing campus infrastructure creating more parking needs. To alleviate this, Seton Hall University is constantly looking for possible parking expansion within their campus. ![]() TimHaahs was retained in 1999 by Seton Hall to serve as the prime design firm to study and provide construction documentation including functional, architectural, structural, and graphic design services for the expansion of their existing three-level parking structure located adjacent to their basketball arena. The existing parking facility was a six-bay wide, side-by-side single helix structure with over 800 spaces. TimHaahs provided an architectural design that expanded the structure two levels vertically for an additional 450 spaces, and at the same time added a “twin” tower appearance at the main stair/elevator towers, and a pedestrian canopy. ![]() TimHaahs completed all the design documentation within a two-month period as requested by the University. Construction immediately started in May 2001 and the expansion was completed over a four-month period in time for the fall semester. |
