Temple University Entertainment and Community Education Center - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Temple University embarked on an ambitious expansion program including new academic and recreational facilities. As part of this effort, TimHaahs previously completed a state-of-the-art 1218 space parking structure to support the Liacouras Center development on its Main Campus. ![]() Temple then retained TimHaahs to design the Entertainment and Community Education Center, also known as ECEC. The ECEC is a four story, 52,800 square foot institutional and commercial building with a mechanical penthouse. The ECEC houses a Temple University-operated community education center, Temple radio station WRTI, space for a two story television broadcast station facility, and retail space at the ground level. The community education center is intended to be a resource for the residents of the surrounding community with particular focus on seniors and youth. The center includes a computer lab, smart classrooms, a resource library, a reading lounge, and a 100+ seat community room for meetings and events. |
