Temple University Entertainment and Community Education Center - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Temple University embarked on an ambitious expansion program including new academic and recreational facilities. As part of this effort, TimHaahs previously completed a state-of-the-art 1218 space parking structure to support the Liacouras Center development on its Main Campus.  Temple then retained TimHaahs to design the Entertainment and Community Education Center, also known as ECEC. The ECEC is a four story, 52,800 square foot institutional and commercial building with a mechanical penthouse. The ECEC houses a Temple University-operated community education center, Temple radio station WRTI, space for a two story television broadcast station facility, and retail space at the ground level. The community education center is intended to be a resource for the residents of the surrounding community with particular focus on seniors and youth. The center includes a computer lab, smart classrooms, a resource library, a reading lounge, and a 100+ seat community room for meetings and events. |
