Towson Town Center Garage Expansion - Towson, Maryland TimHaahs provided engineering design services for the Towson Town Center Mall garage expansion. The parking structure required significant expansion as a result of a major renovation and expansion of the mall under the General Growth Properties, Inc. (GGP). To accommodate this growth, the existing 500-space parking facility required an expansion to double its capacity. The parking structure includes atriums, wide open plaza entrances, and other attractions. New offices, retail space, and restaurants were also included to attract more visitors. ![]() TimHaahs teamed with Carter::Burgess, a national architecture firm, to help GGP deliver this ambitious project. TimHaahs was responsible for the functional design layout and structural engineering of the garage expansion, including the restaurant and retail within and attached to the parking structure. The parking structure shares a common foundation with the existing facility. TimHaahs incorporated a steel frame structure for the restaurant and retail spaces adjoining the garage footprint. ![]() The expansion increased the garage capacity by 400 spaces. The project added a drop off area adjacent to restaurants, valet parking, the pedestrian promenade, and spacious walking lanes between the restaurants, retail, and mall. This project created more “people places”, adding vitality and ambience, making Towson Town Center a destination. ![]()
