University of Georgia – Performing Arts Center Garage - Athens, Georgia The University of Georgia selected TimHaahs to design a new 1,000 space parking structure on their campus in Athens, Georgia. Through the programming phase, TimHaahs determined that two parking structures, built on different locations on campus, would be the most appropriate solution for the campus. For both designs, TimHaahs is serving as the prime design professional. The Performing Arts Center (PAC) Parking Garage consists of approximately 450 spaces. The parking structure will be built adjacent to UGA’s performing arts center located on campus. The parking structure will be built on a very small parking lot, and will be built into a hillside. Working with the selected contractor, Hardin, TimHaahs developed a plan to design a garage that is both user-friendly and affordable. Working with design consultant Cooper Carry, TimHaahs developed an architecture that blends in beautifully with the adjacent PAC Center. Consisting of precast concrete, all of the architectural elements are integrated within the structural precast to achieve an attractive, yet affordable facility.
