University of Pennsylvania Site Analysis - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania In 2005, TimHaahs performed a site analysis of three potential sites for a parking facility for the University of Pennsylvania to determine how to best resolve the growing demand for parking on campus. ![]() TimHaahs reviewed and analyzed three prospective sites for the development of an approximate 1,000 space parking structure to serve the University of Pennsylvania’s parking needs in the vicinity of the Old Convention Center. Factors considered included adjacent boundary conditions, user groups, vehicular access, traffic and pedestrian movements, and destinations. Specific site opportunities and difficulties were also addressed in the analysis. Based on the three site evaluations performed, TimHaahs recommended two options that would best serve the University’s needs. These options consist of a horizontal expansion to an existing parking structure. Premiums associated with these options may include higher architectural façades, given their central location within the hospital precinct. These options also offer the most convenience to pedestrians and motorists, due to the direct connections to the streets and campus pedestrian networks. |
