VAMC Philadelphia Parking Structure - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania For the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs, TimHaahs provided prime design services for a new 450-space parking facility expansion at the VA Medical Center in downtown Philadelphia. The VA is embarking on a major update of their campus to accommodate their patients and employees more effectively. As a result of the significant increase in the number of patients and employees in recent years, parking at the downtown Philadelphia campus has become insufficient and inconvenient. The limited parking supply created significant issues for those looking for a space, with some resorting to parking in drive aisles or near doors and elevators. This often resulted in disorganized and potentially even unsafe conditions within the garage. TimHaahs conducted a feasibility study to determine the most practical, economical and attractive solution for the addition of new parking. The study identified several alternative sites as potential garage options. TimHaahs and the VA worked together to determine the best alternative given the future plans and needs of the medical center. The fast-track project will be completed in July 2011.
