Timothy Haahs named 2012 Delaware Valley Engineer of the Year
On February 17, 2012, Timothy Haahs, PE, AIA accepted the 2012 Delaware Valley Engineer of the Year Award from the Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia. This honor was awarded on behalf of the engineering and technical societies of the Delaware Valley, representing the geographic region ranging including Southern New Jersey, Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs, and Delaware. Individuals are nominated by one of the societies, and selected by delegates from the tri-state region. As the named Engineer of the Year, Tim actively participated in Engineers’ Week activities and will continue to represent the engineering profession in the Delaware Valley throughout 2012. Tim received the award as part of the 2012 Delaware Valley Engineers Week. National Engineers Week was established in 1951 to help increase public understanding of the engineering profession. In the Delaware Valley, Engineers Week program have been held since 1953. The programs are sponsored by a coalition of engineering societies, government agencies, universities and major corporations representing thousands of engineers. Engineers Week is a strong venue to inform our citizens of the value of engineers, celebrate engineering technology and innovation and cultivate interest in math, science and engineering among the nation's youth - tomorrow's work force. ![]() During his acceptance speech, Tim thanked engineers for their contribution to the community, and encouraged them to seek opportunities to use their talents to advance the topics of sustainable planning and design.
