Centennial District Intermodal Transportation Center Opens at Philadelphia Zoo
Timothy Haahs and Associates, Inc. (TimHaahs) congratulates America’s First Zoo, the Philadelphia Zoo, on the grand opening of the new Centennial District Intermodal Transportation Center in Philadelphia, PA. During the ribbon cutting ceremony held Friday, April 6th, Philadelphia Zoo President and CEO, Vikram Dewan, expressed the excitement surrounding the intermodal center, not only because it provides parking for zoo visitors, but it will serve the blossoming Centennial District.
For the 683-space, stand-alone Centennial District Intermodal Transportation Center, TimHaahs provided parking planning and design, as well as architectural documentation and structural engineering services. Cognizant of the Centennial District’s anticipated future growth, the structure will prove to be an integral part of the district’s revitalization and development.
The transportation center improves the quality of life for residents and visitors alike in this west Philadelphia neighborhood by providing increased parking capacity, decreased traffic congestion, improved streetscapes and lighting, and more.
