We worked with GSB Architects and DPR Construction to deliver over 6,200-parking spaces for the Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID) in Orlando, FL, using a design/build approach. The Orange Garage is a 4,000-space parking facility, while the Lime Garage provides over 2,200-parking spaces to serve the expansion of Disney Springs.

Both parking garages consist of cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete framing. To enhance the user experience and provide a functional design to meet the needs of such large garages, the designs both include an exterior speed ramp.

To help break up the mass of the large floor plates, we introduced light wells to bring in natural light and natural ventilation into each garage. The parking garages include many features including space counting systems, highly visible and easy-to-read graphics, abundant escalators, stairs, and elevators – all used to help improve the parking experience. Both of these garages provide a very open, inviting parking experience for the users, which is exactly the type of welcoming Disney was seeking for their visitors.
