2017 FPTA Award

Posted on

The Florida Parking and Transportation Association (FPTA) recently held their Annual FPTA Award Conference this past December. Our firm was honored an Award of Excellence in Parking Structure Functional Design and Architecture Exterior Façade, for the Sawgrass Mills Colonnade Parking Garage.

The 1700-space parking structure serves the Sawgrass Mills Colonnade shopping center in Sunrise, Florida. With multi-level valet parking; fully furnished waiting areas; and a sandy yellow precast facade, the Sawgrass Mills Colonnade Parking Garage serves as an extension of the premium shopping experience. This garage combines architecture and functional design to create an inviting “front door” experience for visitors to connect to this vibrant shopping destination.

The unique component to this project is the pedestrian convenience and the connectivity of the structure. The main stair and elevator tower are located at a covered pedestrian crosswalk that is connected to the Colonnade building. Each level has bright colors, along with large super-graphics at the stair towers to help users not only remember where they parked their car, but to also easily help direct them towards the connecting pedestrian walkway.

We are delighted to have been recognized by FPTA with this honor.
