Our Story

The TimHaahs story is about challenge, growth, and our driving force.

We focus on our mission as the foundation for all that we do.

From a makeshift office in our founder’s home garage, we created a firm that leads by example. Along the way, our firm grew in leaps and bounds to become the recognized leader in parking, planning, and design.

    After his first heart transplant, Timothy Haahs started the firm out of his home garage with the mission “We exist to help those in need.”

    1997 : Early Growth and Success

    The United States Chamber of Commerce recognizes the company with the Blue Chip Enterprise Award and the firm ranks 7th out of the 100 fastest-growing firms in the Philadelphia region.

  • Facing and Overcoming Trials

    1997 : Facing and Overcoming Trials

    Tim learns he will need a second heart transplant. He waits seven months for a new heart, a perfect match.

  • A New Home

    2002 : A New Home

    TimHaahs opens our new corporate headquarters in Blue Bell, PA. At the same time founds  Calvary Vision Community Center to serve local charitable organizations.

  • Expanding Our Mission

    2005 : Expanding Our Mission

    TimHaahs opens our first regional office in Miami.   This is the first in a series of expansions designed to increase our presence, while working to serve our communities.

  • Awards and Honors

    2006 : Awards and Honors

    Structural Engineer Magazine names TimHaahs one of the best places to work in the country.  Ernst & Young recognizes Timothy Haahs as the Entrepreneur of the Year for Design and Construction in the Philadelphia Region.

  • Growing our National Presence

    2007 : Growing our National Presence

    TimHaahs opens our second regional office, this time in Atlanta, GA. Our expanded presence allows us to better serve our clients in the southeast, and is marked by the award of two new parking garage projects serving Valdosta State University.

    2009 : Heading North

    The firm opens another regional office, this time in New Brunswick, NJ to better serve our clients in the Northeast, and significantly expand our transit portfolio.

  • Sustainability in Practice

    2010 : Sustainability in Practice

    TimHaahs staff commit to sustainability as fundamental to our mission with 25% of the firm earning their LEED AP status.

  • Going International

    2012 : Going International

    Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), the most influential news media organization in South Korea, airs an hour-long documentary about Timothy Haahs and the firm.  We expand our international practice with work in China, Korea, and the Middle East.

    2014 : Celebrating and Planning Ahead

    We celebrate our 20th birthday.  We reaffirm our commitment to our mission and core values and look forward to a bright future with a broad horizon.
